It turns out that even tough guys like John Cena have their insecurities. The famous wrestler and actor recently got real about a personal issue: hair loss. He revealed that he had a hair transplant in November 2024, a decision he made after fans repeatedly pointed out his thinning hair.
It was his fans, in fact, who really pushed him to do it. Cena said that while he was trying to hide his hair loss during matches, the crowd would hold up signs teasing him about being bald. He said this public feedback “pushed me into going to see what my options were.” He described the procedure as a simple process of moving hair from one part of his head to another. Afterward, he started a regular care routine that includes using special shampoos, vitamins, and even red-light therapy.
Cena admitted that he wished he had done it sooner, saying he felt a lot of shame around the issue and that he would have had the procedure ten years ago if there wasn’t so much stigma. He wants other men to know they aren’t alone, since most men experience thinning hair or baldness. The transplant has also been a big plus for his acting career, as having a different hairstyle can help him land more diverse roles.
Cena is currently on his final WWE tour and plans to retire from wrestling in 2025, explaining that he’s no longer as fast or strong as he used to be. Now, his focus has shifted to his health and his family.
