This is higher than the opening-day total of Toy Story\u2019s re-release, but a bit behind Spider-Man: No Way Home and Avengers: Endgame.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"581\" data-end=\"882\">The sci-fi classic, directed by Robert Zemeckis, stars Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, Crispin Glover, and Thomas F. Wilson. Back to the Future was followed by two sequels and grew into a huge franchise with video games, theme park rides, an animated show, and even a stage musical.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"884\" data-end=\"1287\">With its re-release, the film ranks 7th among major recent Hollywood re-releases. It\u2019s expected to earn between $3.5 million and $4.5 million over the three-day weekend. Overseas, it has made $780,000, bringing the worldwide total to $2.3 million from the re-release.
