Federal prosecutors and the FBI are conducting an investigation into whether Mayor Eric Adams\u2019 2021 election campaign was conspired by the Turkish government to receive illegal foreign donations, as per a search warrant obtained by The New York Times.<\/p>\n
The broad public corruption investigation burst into public view on Thursday, when the federal officers conducted an early morning raid on Brianna Suggs\u2019s home in Brooklyn, who is a campaign consultant and was deeply entwined with efforts to advance the mayor\u2019s agenda.<\/p>\n
The investigators also sought to learn the potential involvement of a Brooklyn construction company with ties to Turkey, as well as a small university in Washington D.C., that also happens to have ties with the country and to Mr. Adams.<\/p>\n
According to search warrant, the investigators are also focused on if the mayor\u2019s office have returned the favours to the construction company\u2019s official, its employees, and to Turkish officials.<\/p>\n
As per reports, the officials have confiscated three iPhones and two laptop computers, along with papers and other evidence, including something that was labelled as \u201cmanila folder labebeled Eric Adams\u201d by the officials.<\/p>\n
