Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said in a CNBC interview on Wednesday that the United States is only \u201cnot far ahead\u201d of China when it comes to artificial intelligence development.<\/p>\n
Huang highlighted that while the U.S. leads in some areas, China\u2019s progress in AI is impressive and the gap between the two countries is smaller than many think.<\/p>\n
He also voiced strong support for the H-1B visa program, calling it a key part of America\u2019s success in technology. According to Huang, immigration helps the U.S. attract top global talent and remains a core part of the \u201cAmerican dream.\u201d<\/p>\n
Speaking about Nvidia\u2019s business, Huang said demand for the company\u2019s latest Blackwell chips is \u201creally, really high.\u201d He added that Nvidia is constantly seeking new startups to invest in, as its broader goal is to strengthen AI infrastructure and help the entire tech ecosystem grow.<\/p>\n
Huang also shared a personal reflection about his investment choices, saying his \u201conly regret\u201d was not putting more money into Elon Musk\u2019s xAI and not investing in OpenAI sooner. He noted that OpenAI\u2019s revenue is growing at an extraordinary rate.<\/p>\n
According to Bloomberg, xAI is currently raising more money than originally planned, with the round now reaching about $20 billion. Nvidia is said to be contributing up to $2 billion as part of the equity portion of that deal. The funding will help xAI acquire Nvidia\u2019s powerful graphics processing units (GPUs) for its Colossus 2 data center.<\/p>\n
