After the movie hit digital platforms, his self-taped audition video went viral online, earning widespread praise from fans.<\/p>\n<p>In the clip circulating on social media, Corenswet reads an early version of a scene where Rachel Brosnahan\u2019s Lois Lane interviews Clark Kent. Viewers were impressed by how seamlessly he shifted between the calm, mild-mannered Clark Kent and the heroic Superman persona.<\/p>\n<p>Fans quickly shared their reactions online. One wrote, \u201cYou better be blown away by David Corenswet\u2019s audition. This dude just oozes that Superman vibe.\u201d Another added, \u201cYou can always tell who went to Juilliard and who didn\u2019t\u2026 Corenswet is such a theatre kid and it\u2019s so great. He is channeling [Christopher] Reeve so much here, it\u2019s wild.\u201d A third fan commented, \u201cSorry to everyone else who auditioned because it couldn\u2019t have been anyone else.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Director James Gunn previously revealed that Corenswet was the first choice for Superman. In an interview with GQ, Gunn said, \u201cFrom the very beginning, he was the guy to beat.\u201d He explained that the casting process considered chemistry as much as talent, saying, \u201cWe mixed and matched these different actors and actresses to find out not only who was the best Clark and who was the best Lois, but who was the best \u2018Clois,\u2019 who was the best together?
