Justin Bieber has been defended by fans after receiving criticism over his response\u2014or perceived lack thereof\u2014following the assassination of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.<\/p>\n
On Instagram last night (14 September), the Canadian singer shared a photo of a frame from the home he shares with wife Hailey Rhode and their son, Jack Blues. The frame listed ten family \u201cvalues,\u201d including \u201cWe value Rest as Worship,\u201d<\/em> \u201cWe value HEALTH and physical wellness as an act of stewardship,\u201d<\/em> and \u201cWe value HUMAN beings and believe in their dignity and eternal worth.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n While some praised Bieber for highlighting his Christian values, others criticized him for not mentioning Kirk, who was shot and killed last week while speaking at Utah Valley University. The suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, has been arrested.<\/p>\n One critic wrote: \u201cMention the assassination of Charlie Kirk, who left behind a beautiful wife Erika and two young kids. How do you explain that loss to a 3-year-old?\u201d<\/em> Others urged Bieber to \u201cSAY HIS BEAUTIFUL NAME!!!!!! CHARLIE KIRK!!!!!!!!!! OUR BROTHER IN CHRIST!!!!!!!!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Some commentators expressed disappointment that Bieber had previously spoken out about George Floyd and BLM, asking why he hadn\u2019t addressed Kirk\u2019s death.<\/p>\n However, many of Bieber\u2019s fans rushed to his defense, questioning why an entertainer should be expected to comment on every political matter.<\/p>\n One fan asked: \u201cWhy are there people on Instagram going through psychosis begging Justin Bieber to talk about Charlie Kirk?\u201d<\/em> Another added: \u201cMaybe he has prayed to God for Kirk\u2019s family, maybe he hasn\u2019t. The point is, you do not have the right to judge.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Others highlighted Bieber\u2019s nationality as a factor, noting: \u201cJustin Bieber is Canadian.
