The team behind the anime adaptation of Ren Eguchi and illustrator Masa\u2019s \u201cCampfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill\u201d light novel series has confirmed that a second season is in the works. The news was celebrated with special illustrations by Masa, the manga artists K Akagishi and Momo Futaba, and the anime\u2019s director Kiyoshi Matsuda.<\/p>\n
The first season of the anime premiered exclusively in Japan on Amazon Prime Video and Hikari TV. It later aired on TV Tokyo and other channels. Crunchyroll also streamed the series as it aired in Japan.<\/p>\n
The main cast of the first season included Y\u016bma Uchida as Mukouda (Mukouda Tsuyoshi), Satoshi Hino as Fel, Hina Kino as Sui, and Maaya Uchida as Ninrir. Kiyoshi Matsuda directed the first season at MAPPA, while Michiko Yokote oversaw the series scripts. Nao \u014ctsu adapted Masa\u2019s original character designs for animation. The music was composed by Masato K\u014dda, Kana Utatade, and Kuricorder Quartet.<\/p>\n
The story follows Mukouda Tsuyoshi, a regular guy from modern Japan who is unexpectedly summoned to a world of swordplay and sorcery. However, it turns out the kingdom summoned him by mistake, and his abilities are far inferior to the three actual heroes. Realizing the kingdom\u2019s dubious intentions, he sets out to make his own way. Mukouda relies on his unique skill, the \u201cOnline Supermarket,\u201d which allows him to buy modern goods in the fantasy world. While not useful for combat, this skill has some surprising effects when it comes to cooking. When Mukouda introduces modern cuisine to the fantasy world, he gains an enthusiastic and repeat customer base.<\/p>\n
The light novel series and K Akagishi\u2019s manga adaptation are published in English by J-Novel Club. The story first appeared on the \u201cShosetsuka ni Nar\u014d\u201d website in 2016, and it\u2019s been released in print by Overlap. K Akagishi\u2019s manga adaptation and Momo Futaba\u2019s spinoff manga \u201cTondemo Skill de Isekai H\u014dr\u014d Meshi: Sui no Daib\u014dken\u201d are also published in Japan by Overlap.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
