Despite his determination, Nivola admitted that his parents were concerned when he chose to drop out of college to fully commit to acting. \u201cMy parents were upset. It totally scared them, which is understandable,\u201d he said. \u201cI wasn\u2019t happy at the time because I couldn\u2019t dedicate everything in me to acting. And I have problems with authority figures.\u201d<\/p>\n

While he grew up surrounded by fame, Nivola confessed that he wasn\u2019t prepared for the level of recognition that came after The White Lotus.<\/em> He recalled how overwhelming the attention became: \u201cWhen The White Lotus<\/em> was at its peak, I literally couldn\u2019t walk down the street in Brooklyn\u2014my hometown\u2014without being swarmed.\u201d<\/p>\n
