Emma Stone is on a career high after her praised performance in Eddington<\/em> with Pedro Pascal, but during a recent sit-down with Vogue<\/em>, she shared a lighthearted \u2014 and slightly embarrassing \u2014 story from much earlier in her career.<\/p>\n

The actress recalled attending the Golden Globes 14 years ago, back in 2011, when she had been nominated for her breakout role in Easy A<\/em>. That year, Angelina Jolie was also a nominee for her performance in The Tourist<\/em>, and the two stars happened to be seated at the same table. Stone revealed she had brought her mom as her date \u2014 and that\u2019s when things got funny.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was a really, really fun night because I brought my mom, and we sat next to Angelina Jolie,\u201d Stone said. \u201cAnd she asked Angelina Jolie if she had any kids.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, the answer is a definite yes \u2014 Jolie shares six children with her former husband, Brad Pitt. Stone laughed as she remembered the moment, noting how surreal the whole evening felt. \u201cThe Golden Globes is sort of these big round tables, and it feels like you\u2019re just constantly running into all these people that you only see on TV or in movies,\u201d she explained, joking that \u201ceverybody is shorter than you think they are\u2014except for Conan O\u2019Brien.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stone also poked fun at herself, particularly her spray tan and dress choice from the night. Referring to the peach-colored gown she wore, she quipped, \u201cOh god, it\u2019s the spray tan again. I look like one solid thumb. That dress is so pretty. Why did I decide to match my skin tone to the dress? It\u2019s such a beautiful shade, and I really thought the tan was the move.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Oscar winner also reflected on her time making The Amazing Spider-Man 2<\/em>, where she worked with her ex-boyfriend Andrew Garfield. \u201cI mean, I really loved doing Spider-Man,\u201d she shared. \u201cI loved everyone I worked with. I met Andrew there. I met Sally Field, and Marc Webb was wonderful. It was really a special time in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, with Eddington<\/em> directed by Ari Aster and a star-studded cast including Joaquin Phoenix, Austin Butler, Luke Grimes, and Cameron Mann, Stone has firmly cemented her status as one of Hollywood\u2019s most versatile talents \u2014 and still isn\u2019t afraid to laugh at herself along the way.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
