{"id":8419,"date":"2023-10-29T08:35:35","date_gmt":"2023-10-29T12:35:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usa.businessupturn.com\/?p=8419"},"modified":"2023-10-29T08:35:35","modified_gmt":"2023-10-29T12:35:35","slug":"g7-calls-to-repeal-ban-on-japanese-food-pressing-china","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.businessupturn.com\/usa\/g7-calls-to-repeal-ban-on-japanese-food-pressing-china\/8419\/","title":{"rendered":"G7 calls to repeal ban on Japanese food, pressing China"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Group of Seven (G7) industrial powers called on Sunday for the \u201cimmediate repeal\u201d of import curbs on Japanese food products, a reference to China\u2019s restriction after Japan began releasing wastewater from the Fukushima nuclear power plant.<\/p>\n<p>Post the meeting on Osaka, the G7 trade minister, without mentioning China, denounced what they consider its rising economic coercion through trade.<\/p>\n<p>The 10-page statement read, \u201cWe deplore actions to weaponize economic dependencies and commit to build on free, fair, and mutually beneficial economic and trade relationships.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Two months ago, China had imposed ban on Japanese fish imports as the country began disposing radioactive water from the wrecked Fukushima plant into the Pacific.
