There won\u2019t be a new episode of Casualty on Saturday, July 5, 2025. That\u2019s because BBC One is showing live matches from Wimbledon 2025 instead. The famous tennis tournament began on June 30, and it\u2019s being shown every day on BBC One, BBC Two, and BBC iPlayer. This Saturday marks the sixth day of the competition, where players in the men\u2019s and women\u2019s singles will play their third-round matches. The coverage on BBC One starts at 7:15 PM and ends at 10 PM, with Clare Balding hosting the show.<\/p>\n
While Casualty takes a break, let\u2019s catch up on what happened in the last episode, which was called \u201cSupply and Demand \u2013 Episode 3.\u201d In it, paramedic Iain Dean got a phone call from a local hospice about his mother, Kim Harrison. Kim has a difficult past. She\u2019s an alcoholic and has been missing from Iain\u2019s life for years. She first appeared in the show back in February 2017, when Iain was called to help a drunk woman who had fallen down some stairs, only to realise it was his mum. At that point, they hadn\u2019t seen each other for eight years. She was running from people she owed money to, and Iain\u2019s younger sister, Gem, had just been released from prison on the same day. Since then, Kim caused a lot of trouble in Iain\u2019s life until she left in 2019. Around that time, Iain hit a low point and even tried to take his own life. Now that she\u2019s back in the story, it\u2019s bringing up a lot of hard memories for him.<\/p>\n
Michael Stevenson, the actor who plays Iain, said in an interview that Iain always expected this call but had been trying to forget about it. It not only messes with his current work training but also affects him deeply going forward.<\/p>\n

As for when Casualty returns, the good news is that it will be back on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 8:50 PM on BBC One. In the next episode, Iain will be trying to deal with everything he\u2019s just learned about his mum, while he and Teddy face real danger during their shift. At the same time, nurse Ngozi Okoye will be tempted by something risky at work, and paramedic Jacob Masters will hit a dead end while trying to help his son.
