The pair last shared the screen three decades ago in the 1994 gothic drama Interview with the Vampire, and fans have long hoped for another collaboration. Now, while promoting his highly anticipated racing film F1, Pitt expressed openness to working with Cruise again, but made it clear that he has no interest in matching Cruise’s extreme stunt work.

Speaking to E! News, Pitt humorously set his boundary, saying, “Well, I’m not gonna hang my ass off airplanes and shit like that,” a nod to Cruise’s reputation for performing high-risk stunts in the Mission: Impossible and Top Gun franchises. Pitt continued, “So when he does something again that’s on the ground, [then yes].” The comment was delivered with charm, but it highlighted the stark difference in how both actors approach action filmmaking—Cruise being known for his hands-on intensity, and Pitt preferring a slightly more grounded route.

Pitt’s upcoming film F1, directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer—both of whom worked with Cruise on Top Gun: Maverick—has already drawn comparisons to the adrenaline-fueled aesthetic of Cruise’s films. Interestingly, F1 was conceived while Top Gun: Maverick was still in post-production, and Kosinski had once hoped to cast both Cruise and Pitt together in Ford v Ferrari. That idea, however, never came to fruition due to budget issues, and the roles eventually went to Christian Bale and Matt Damon.

In a previous interview with GQ Magazine, Kosinski reflected on what it would’ve been like to direct Cruise in F1, suggesting that while both actors are capable drivers, Cruise’s appetite for intensity might have added a different level of tension on set. “Tom always pushes it to the limit,” he noted, “but at the same time is super capable and very skilled. They both have the natural talent for driving. But yeah, I could see Tom maybe scaring us a little bit more.”

With Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning continuing to thrill audiences in theaters and Pitt’s F1 set to release on June 27, the idea of them teaming up again—minus airplanes—feels more possible than ever. Pitt’s light-hearted condition for a reunion doesn’t close the door; it simply suggests that if they do join forces again, it’ll be with both feet on solid ground.

Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise, two of Hollywood’s most enduring and iconic leading men, might just reunite on screen—but only…

[67
3627,875
post-78785","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-celebrity-news","tag-brad-pitt","tag-tom-cruise
["GET
