Representative Dean Phillips of Minnesota announced Thursday that he will running for the presidential election, kicking off a long-shot Democratic primary challenge to President Joe Biden.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think President Biden has done a spectacular job for our country, but it\u2019s not about the past. This is an election about the future,\u201d he told CBS News. He added that he cannot stay quiet in the face of numbers, that clearly states that the country could be facing an emergency in November next year.<\/p>\n
It is expected for him to formally announce his bid on Friday in Concord, where he\u2019ll fine to run in New Hampshire\u2019s Democratic primary.<\/p>\n
The three-term congressman, who recently left his House Democratic leadership position in the face of intraparty frustration as he called for an alternative of Biden.
