The good news is, there are strong signs that a second season will happen.<\/p>\n

When MobLand<\/em> was released, it broke records on Paramount+. On its first day, 2.2 million people watched it from around the world. That made it the most-watched premiere in the streamer\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

Two other popular shows on Paramount+, 1923<\/em> and Landman<\/em>, also had huge success when they launched. Both of those shows were renewed for second seasons, so it\u2019s likely that MobLand<\/em> will follow the same path.<\/p>\n

Tom Hardy, who plays the main character Harry, has also said that he wants to return. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>, he said that coming back for season 2 is \u201cdefinitely the plan.\u201d He even shared that the next season might take the story to an international level, focusing on how organised crime connects across countries.<\/p>\n

Hardy explained that season 1 already touches on global crime networks involving drugs, weapons, and human trafficking, moving through Europe, Africa, South America, and Pakistan. He said there are crime families in every country trying to control this dangerous trade, and who\u2019s really in charge, and how they\u2019re stopped, could be explored more in the future.<\/p>\n

Producer David Glasser gave fans more hope back in March when he told Deadline<\/em> that MobLand<\/em> \u201cwill have\u201d a second season, and that the whole cast and crew are expected to return.<\/p>\n

Then, in June, actress Joanne Froggatt, who plays Jan (Harry\u2019s wife), said in an interview with ScreenRant<\/em> that they are \u201cvery hopeful\u201d the story will continue.<\/p>\n

Pierce Brosnan also shared his excitement in an interview with MovieWeb<\/em>. He said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the whole world is waiting to see the second season, and I believe they will be going ahead with a second season. As far as I know, it hasn\u2019t been officially announced as yet, but people would love to see it. I had the greatest time working with this great company of actors. Yeah, it\u2019s been a resounding success.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The only bit of doubt came in May, when The Sun<\/em> claimed the show might be cancelled. But this was not confirmed by anyone involved, so it\u2019s best not to take it seriously.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also a lot more story left to tell. Season 1 ended with a shocking twist: Harry (played by Hardy) gets stabbed by his wife, Jan. Thankfully, writer Jez Butterworth has already confirmed that Harry survives, so if the show comes back, we\u2019ll see him again. And of course, that makes things very intense and awkward between Harry and Jan moving forward.<\/p>\n

For now, fans will have to wait a little longer. But with so many positive signs, it seems likely that season 2 is coming.<\/p>\n
