Joining returning cast members like Zendaya and Jacob Elordi, Sweeney teases that the new season is going to be nothing short of \u201cunhinged.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <em>Empire Magazine<\/em>, Sweeney opened up about her love for playing Cassie\u2014flawed, impulsive, and deeply emotional. \u201cShe is crazy. She makes so many mistakes\u2026 but she does it all from a place of love,\u201d Sweeney said. \u201cIt could be a sad version of love as well. It\u2019s so much fun to play a character who is as crazy as she is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She also revealed that this season might just show Cassie at her peak\u2014both in happiness and in pure unfiltered chaos. \u201cCassie has never been happier and never been crazier,\u201d she shared. Working again with showrunner Sam Levinson, Sweeney added, \u201cI\u2019ll read something, then I\u2019ll call him, and I\u2019m like, \u2018Let\u2019s go crazier.\u2019 And he\u2019s like, \u2018I\u2019m all in.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Season 3 officially began production in January 2025, and the entire main cast is set to return.
