The Boston Celtics<\/a>, a famous basketball team, are going through a rough time. After failing to win the championship again, their star player, Jayson Tatum, is now badly hurt and will be out for a long time because of an Achilles injury. That\u2019s a serious injury that could take many months to heal. Because of this, many people are wondering if the team will now break up their group of expensive star players and start fresh.<\/p>\n

Even before Tatum got hurt during a game against the New York Knicks, there were already lots of rumours that the team might trade away some big names this summer. On top of that, a new group of owners is about to take charge of the team, and they may not want to keep spending so much money. Some people even think 2026 might be a \u201crebuilding year,\u201d a time when the team isn\u2019t aiming to win big, but to fix things for the future.<\/p>\n

NBA reporter Shams Charania recently appeared on The Pat McAfee Show<\/em> and said that other teams have already been calling the Celtics to ask about trading for Jaylen Brown and Derrick White, two important players on the team. But according to Shams, the Celtics aren\u2019t in any rush to trade them. They\u2019d only consider it if they got an incredible offer.<\/p>\n

Shams said,<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sure teams are throwing crazy offers for guys like Jaylen Brown and Derrick White,\u201d Charania said. \u201cBut, it\u2019ll take a pretty insurmountable package to get those guys out of Boston.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Experts think the Celtics should only trade Brown or White if it\u2019s a deal they simply cannot refuse. Both are in their prime (their best years as players), and they\u2019re key to keeping the team strong. Jaylen Brown even won the Finals MVP (Most Valuable Player) just a year ago, and Derrick White has become one of the most reliable and skilled players since joining the team in 2022.<\/p>\n

If the Celtics do decide to make any trades, it\u2019s more likely they\u2019d move players like Kristaps Porzingis or Jrue Holiday, who are older and have had more injuries. In today\u2019s basketball game, teams really need strong wing players, guys who can both defend and score from the outside. That\u2019s exactly what Brown and White are good at.
