Scream 7<\/em><\/a> might still be a while away from hitting movie theatres, but the good news is,\u00a0filming has already started, and we\u2019re getting more exciting updates all the time.<\/p>\n

This new chapter in the Scream<\/em> franchise<\/a>, which includes some of the most iconic horror movies ever, is bringing back a fan favourite: the original \u201cfinal girl,\u201d Sidney Prescott, played by Neve Campbell. She was the main character in the early films, so fans are pretty excited to see her return.<\/p>\n

But here\u2019s where things get kind of wild: a couple of characters who were thought to be dead<\/em> are somehow coming back.<\/p>\n

Yep, Matthew Lillard (who played Stu) and David Arquette (who played Dewey) are both set to return. Now, Stu\u2019s comeback makes some<\/em> sense, there\u2019s always been speculation that he might have survived. But Dewey? That one\u2019s a real head-scratcher, since his death felt pretty final. Scream 7 release date: When will it release?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

After a bunch of delays and behind-the-scenes problems, we finally have a release date for Scream 7:<\/em>\u00a0February 27, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Yep, it\u2019s official. And honestly? It\u2019s a big relief.<\/strong> This horror sequel has been in the works since August 2023, but it\u2019s had a pretty bumpy road. The Hollywood actors\u2019 strike (SAG-AFTRA) caused major delays, and there were also a lot of changes in the cast that made things even more uncertain.<\/p>\n

To make matters worse, in December 2023, director Christopher Landon stepped down from the project. That left fans really worried, not just about the movie, but about the future of Ghostface (the masked killer) too.<\/p>\n

But now, things seem to be back on track. The new director is Kevin Williamson, who actually wrote the very first Scream<\/em> movie back in 1996. That\u2019s a big deal, and it\u2019s giving fans hope that this sequel will stick to the original feel of the franchise.<\/p>\n

Filming is currently underway in Atlanta, and some leaked photos from the set have already started making the rounds online, which has only made fans even more excited to see what\u2019s coming next for Ghostface.<\/p>\n
