Tom Felton<\/a>, the actor most of us remember as Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter movies, just shared some exciting news. He\u2019s officially joining the stage production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child<\/em>. Not just that, he\u2019ll be performing in the play for a solid 19 weeks! His first show will kick off on November 11, 2025, and he\u2019ll take his final bow on March 22, 2026.<\/p>\n

What makes this even more special is that this will be Felton\u2019s first time ever performing on Broadway. Yup, after more than a decade away from playing Draco (14 years, to be exact, his last time was in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2<\/em> in 2011), he\u2019s back in the wizarding world and this time, live on stage.<\/p>\n

Now, this has reignited curiosity among fans, many are wondering if The Cursed Child<\/em> will ever be made into a full-on movie. There\u2019s no confirmation yet, but the excitement is definitely real.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, while quite a few original Harry Potter actors have stayed connected to the franchise in one way or another, none of them have returned to play their original roles in a Broadway show or similar production, until now. So Felton is really breaking new ground here.<\/p>\n

Others from the cast have popped up in more unusual Harry Potter spin-offs. For example, the Phelps twins (Oliver and James, aka Fred and George Weasley) have taken part in Harry Potter-themed shows like Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking<\/em>, which is basically a magical cooking competition that aired on the Food Network.<\/p>\n

Also, some of the main trio, Daniel Radcliffe (Harry), Emma Watson (Hermione), and Rupert Grint (Ron), did briefly reprise their roles, but not in a movie or a play. They filmed scenes for a theme park ride called Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts<\/em>, which you can check out at Universal Studios in Orlando. That ride came out after the movie series ended, so technically, they got to play their characters a little longer than the others.<\/p>\n

Another fun fact? Imelda Staunton, who played the wickedly pink and evil Dolores Umbridge, also came back for a new ride called Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry<\/em>. It launched in May 2025 at Universal\u2019s latest theme park, Epic Universe. Since her first appearance as Umbridge was in 2007, and this ride came out in 2025, she\u2019s officially played the same character for 18 years straight. That makes her the second longest-running character actor in the franchise.<\/p>\n

But now that Felton is returning as Draco for The Cursed Child<\/em>, he\u2019s stepping into that long-term role territory too.<\/p>\n

So, whether you\u2019re into Broadway, still obsessed with the Potterverse, or just feeling nostalgic, this is a big deal. Magic is definitely in the air again.<\/p>\n
