The Last of Us<\/a> Season 3 is the only thing on our 2026 bucket list!<\/p>\n

The Last of Us Season 2<\/a> will be remembered forever because it depicted the death of Joel, played by Pedro Pascal. This was a huge moment that shocked and upset many fans of the original video game by Naughty Dog, which told the same story. Joel and Ellie, played by Bella Ramsey, were such a strong team that it\u2019s hard to imagine anyone else like them. But after Joel\u2019s painful and violent death, Ellie isn\u2019t completely alone. In Season 2, she has Dina, played by Isabela Merced, by her side as they travel to Seattle. Their goal is to find Abby, the woman who killed Joel.<\/p>\n

But Abby\u2019s side of the story is important too. Season 2 actually starts by showing her life. Abby is the daughter of a doctor who worked for a group called the Fireflies. These Fireflies were trying to find a cure for a deadly infection called the Cordyceps pandemic. But in the Season 1 finale, Joel killed Abby\u2019s father and the other people at the hospital because he found out the cure would have meant killing Ellie. Abby then decided to take revenge by killing Joel. Now, Ellie is following a similar path, seeking revenge for Joel\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

HBO has already decided to make a third season of The Last of Us, even before Season 2 came out in April 2025. Season 2 primarily tells the story from the video game The Last of Us Part II, and it appears that Season 3 will continue to follow the story from the games as well.<\/p>\n
