Halle Bailey, best known for playing Ariel in The Little Mermaid<\/em>, now has temporary full custody of her 17-month-old son, Halo Saint. This means she\u2019s currently the only one legally allowed to make decisions about their child and take care of him day to day\u2014without needing input or approval from the child\u2019s father, rapper DDG (real name Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.).<\/p>\n

Halle and DDG dated from 2022 to 2024 and had their son in December 2023. But after their breakup, things took a turn. Halle filed serious claims in court, accusing DDG of being physically, emotionally, verbally, and financially abusive during and after their relationship. She also mentioned that he made co-parenting extremely difficult.<\/p>\n

Because of these allegations, she got a temporary restraining order. This legally forces DDG to stay at least 100 yards away from both her and their son\u2014basically, he can\u2019t come near them for any reason. This order will stay in place until their next court hearing on June 4, 2025.<\/p>\n

Halle also made it clear to the court that she doesn\u2019t want DDG to have unsupervised time with Halo. Instead, she\u2019s okay with him seeing their son only under supervision\u2014meaning a professional will be present during the visit to make sure everything stays safe and appropriate. These visits would happen once a week for six hours, but only if Halo is in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s also worried about the possibility of DDG trying to take Halo away. So she asked the court to block him from taking their child out of Los Angeles County and from getting any travel documents for him. Even if she agrees to travel, she wants everything clearly documented: full travel plans, round-trip tickets, and an extra ticket for her, just in case DDG tries not to bring Halo back.<\/p>\n

In her court statement, Halle said she really tried to avoid legal action. She hoped things could be handled without going to court, but she felt she had no choice anymore. According to her, DDG\u2019s behavior was unpredictable and harmful. She said she lived in constant fear of when he might lash out next or try to control access to their son.<\/p>\n

She described disturbing incidents\u2014like one time in January when DDG screamed insults at her as she was trying to buckle Halo into his car seat. Then in March, she claimed DDG broke into her home when she wasn\u2019t there, took a picture of her bed, and sent it to her with a threatening message implying she was cheating.<\/p>\n

Now, Halle is drawing firm lines. She wants safety and stability for herself and her son, and she\u2019s using the legal system to make that happen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
