The Cannes Film Festival is almost here, and it\u2019s always the place to see some of the best movies from around the world. This festival isn\u2019t just about great films\u2014it\u2019s known for celebrating all kinds of stories and perspectives, with diverse filmmakers and jury members from different backgrounds.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Over the years, the winners of the festival\u2019s top prize, the Palme d\u2019Or, often go on to win big at other award shows too, so it\u2019s a really good place to spot the next big hits.<\/p>\n

This year, there are some exciting movies you definitely want to keep an eye on. Here are six of them that have people buzzing:<\/p>\n

Alpha<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Directed by Julia Ducournau, who already won the Palme d\u2019Or before, Alpha is back with a new horror movie that\u2019s really personal to her. It\u2019s set during the AIDS crisis in the 1980s, a tough time in history, and it promises to be a deep and meaningful story. If you\u2019re into horror with a strong message, this one\u2019s for you.<\/p>\n

Eddington<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This film stars Joaquin Phoenix and Pedro Pascal, and it\u2019s set during the COVID-19 pandemic. It\u2019s a smart mix of modern issues and satire, taking a fresh look at the tensions between police and local politicians in a small New Mexico town. Emma Stone and Austin Butler also star, making it a real powerhouse cast.<\/p>\n

The History of Sound<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Directed by Oliver Hermanus from South Africa, this movie takes place during World War I. It follows two young men, played by Paul Mescal and Josh O\u2019Connor, who are a gay couple and music students. They go around collecting folk songs from people in their community, blending history, love, and music in a touching way.<\/p>\n

Highest 2 Lowest<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Spike Lee teams up once again with Denzel Washington in this film inspired by a classic 1963 Japanese crime movie. The story follows a businessman\u2019s ups and downs in a thrilling, crime-filled journey. The cast is stacked with Ice Spice, A$AP Rocky, and Jeffrey Wright too, so expect a cool mix of music and drama.<\/p>\n

Die, My Love<\/strong><\/h3>\n

After nearly ten years away from the big screen, director Lynne Ramsay is back with Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson starring. The film tells the story of Grace, a new mom struggling with postpartum depression. Her world is complicated by the presence of her husband (played by Pattinson) and her lover (LaKeith Stanfield), making for an intense, emotional drama.<\/p>\n

Honey Don\u2019t<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This one features Margaret Qualley and Chris Evans in a new movie directed by Ethan Coen. It\u2019s about a small-town detective trying to solve local murders. Margaret Qualley and Coen worked together last year on Drive-Away Dolls<\/em>, so fans are excited to see their new project.
