Prince Harry had high hopes when he introduced Meghan Markle to his late mother Princess Diana\u2019s sisters, but things didn\u2019t go as he expected. According to royal author Tom Bower in his book Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors<\/em>, Harry thought Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes would see a reflection of Diana in Meghan.<\/p>\n

But instead of a warm embrace, Harry was left \u201cso disappointed\u201d when Diana\u2019s sisters didn\u2019t share his view.<\/p>\n

Harry believed Meghan had the same kindness, strength, and compassion that Diana was known for. But apparently, Diana\u2019s sisters didn\u2019t agree. According to Bower, they felt Meghan wouldn\u2019t be the right fit for royal life, which left Harry feeling even more frustrated.<\/p>\n

\u201cHarry assumed that Diana\u2019s family and friends would see a similarity between Diana and his fianc\u00e9e. He was so disappointed. No one agreed that his vulnerable mother had anything in common with his girlfriend,\u201d<\/em> Bower wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Despite the lack of support, Harry stuck to his beliefs and married Meghan in 2018. Today, they\u2019re raising their two kids, Archie and Lilibet, in California.<\/p>\n

Prince Harry still sees Diana in Meghan Markle<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Even years later, Harry stands by what he felt. In the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan<\/em>, released in 2022, he shared:<\/p>\n

\u201cSo much of what Meghan is and how she is, is so similar to my mum. She has the same compassion, the same empathy, the same confidence. She has this warmth about her.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It\u2019s clear Harry still feels a deep connection between his wife and the mother he lost.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Meghan continues to deal with intense public and media criticism. Most recently, there were reports claiming she lost out on a Vogue magazine cover due to allegedly making too many demands. Though the exact details are unclear, it added more fuel to ongoing debates about her public persona.<\/p>\n

British journalist Esther Krakue also took a swipe at Meghan on The Sun\u2019s Royal Exclusive<\/em>, suggesting that instead of trying to become a global \u201cthought leader,\u201d Meghan should simply \u201clean into being a hot woman who married a prince.\u201d<\/p>\n

Krakue also poked fun at Meghan\u2019s recent appearance on The Jamie Kern Lima Show<\/em>, where the Duchess admitted she wouldn\u2019t even know what to put on a resume anymore. Krakue quipped that Meghan \u201chas probably never had to write one,\u201d highlighting her critics\u2019 belief that her fame and opportunities often came from privilege.<\/p>\n

Even though Meghan has her fair share of critics, she\u2019s still actively pursuing new projects and ventures.
