Meghan Markle recently opened up on her podcast Confessions of a Female Founder<\/em> about how she embraced ancient Indian medicine during her pregnancies. The Duchess of Sussex shared that she worked closely with an Ayurvedic doctor who helped guide her through natural remedies and holistic care while expecting her children.<\/p>\n

Joined by Hannah Mendoza, founder of a plant-based superfood latte and tea company, Meghan revealed that a big part of her approach was viewing food as medicine. She explained how she explored alternatives to caffeine and addressed some of the misconceptions around certain health foods, especially mushrooms and adaptogens.<\/p>\n

Meghan said, \u201cWhen people hear mushrooms, they often think, \u2018Oh, that\u2019s hippie dippie, woo woo stuff.\u2019 But really, adaptogens are just a part of food trends \u2014 the kind of things you were ahead of with your brand.\u201d She also reflected on how much public awareness has grown over the years, joking about how quinoa used to be mispronounced as \u2018canoa\u2019 just 10 or 15 years ago.<\/p>\n

The Duchess also shared a sweet story about discovering Mendoza\u2019s turmeric latte during her pregnancy, when a friend gifted her a basket with the product.<\/p>\n
