Director Paul Feig has teased fans with the possibility of a third installment in the stylish and twist-packed A Simple Favor<\/em> franchise.<\/strong> Following the shocking ending of the second movie, Another Simple Favor<\/em>, there might just be more mystery, murder, and mischief on the horizon.<\/p>\n

The sequel left audiences hanging with a major cliffhanger: Emily (Blake Lively) has a secret third sister named Charity<\/strong>, who was kidnapped at birth by their scheming aunt Linda<\/strong> (played by Allison Janney). Raised to be a con artist and killer, Charity stirs up a storm by trying to frame Stephanie<\/strong> (Anna Kendrick) for two murders \u2014 one of them being Sean<\/strong> (Henry Golding), and the other Dante<\/strong> (Michele Morrone), Emily\u2019s fianc\u00e9.<\/p>\n

But just when things look bleak for Stephanie, Emily swoops in and saves her. She also manages to stop Dante\u2019s mafia family from killing Stephanie. The film reaches its tense climax on a dramatic Italian cliffside, where Emily and Stephanie confront Linda and Charity. Emily cleverly convinces Charity to confess to the murders, allowing herself to vanish once again into the shadows \u2014 classic Emily.<\/p>\n

However, director Paul Feig revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly<\/em> that this wasn\u2019t the original plan. The earlier version of the script painted Dante as a villain<\/strong> who faked his own death and framed Emily. It had more of a \u201ccaper\u201d vibe, with Emily and Stephanie forced to go on the run.<\/p>\n

The final scene of Another Simple Favor<\/em> hints that the story is far from over. Emily is approached by Dante\u2019s mafia mother<\/strong> (played by Elena Sofia Ricci) at the Trevi Fountain in Rome<\/strong>, who mysteriously asks Emily for another \u201csimple favor.\u201d What exactly that favor is remains a mystery \u2014 but it sounds dangerous, and apparently, it\u2019s something that no one else in the family would dare to do.<\/p>\n

So, does this mean we\u2019ll be getting a third movie?<\/p>\n

Feig, who usually avoids making sequels, surprisingly seems interested in continuing the saga. \u201cIt\u2019s all sitting right there to be picked off the tree,\u201d he said. \u201cAs much as I don\u2019t like to do sequels, I have no rule against threequels. There\u2019s much more fun to be had with these characters.\u201d<\/p>\n

While nothing is confirmed just yet, fans of Emily and Stephanie\u2019s glamorous chaos can take comfort in knowing that the door to a third film is wide open<\/strong> \u2014 and Emily might be stepping through it with yet another jaw-dropping favor to deliver.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
