Jeremy Renner didn\u2019t hold back when talking about how he was offered way less money for the second season of the Hawkeye<\/em> show. In a recent interview, he opened up about the frustrating experience.<\/p>\n

Jeremy told High Performance<\/em> magazine that when Disney+ asked him to come back for Season 2, they offered him only half the pay he got for the first season. He was shocked because the job would actually take twice as much work and about eight months of his time.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cThey asked me to do Season 2, and they offered me half the money. I\u2019m like, \u2018It\u2019s going to take me twice as long for half the money.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Jeremy thinks the reason for the pay cut was because of the serious accident he had in 2023. For those who don\u2019t know, Jeremy was hit by a huge snowplow called a Sno-Cat that weighs over 14,000 pounds. This happened while he was trying to help his nephew get out of the snow near his home in Lake Tahoe. The accident caused him severe injuries, including multiple broken ribs, a broken knee and ankle, and a broken leg.<\/p>\n

In the interview, Jeremy said, \u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018Did you think I\u2019m only half the Jeremy because I got ran over? Maybe that\u2019s why you want to pay me half of what I made on the first season.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

He also made it clear that it wasn\u2019t Marvel\u2019s doing, but more the people in charge of the money\u2014\u201cthe penny pinchers, the accountants\u201d at Disney. He told them off and said they didn\u2019t see eye to eye on the deal.<\/p>\n

Even though he loved playing Hawkeye and wanted to keep the role, Jeremy said he had to stand up for himself. He wasn\u2019t asking for more than he made before\u2014he just wanted to be paid the same.<\/p>\n

He added that while it was disappointing, he\u2019s okay with it and even joked that his body might be thankful he\u2019s not filming right now because of all his injuries. Still, he left the door open, saying, \u201cWe\u2019ll see.\u201d<\/p>\n

For a quick reminder, the first season of Hawkeye<\/em> came out on Disney+ in November 2021. Besides Jeremy Renner, the show also starred actors like Hailee Steinfeld, Florence Pugh, and Tony Dalton.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
