Jenna Ortega is already one of the most in-demand young stars in Hollywood, thanks to her breakout role in Wednesday<\/em>. But acting isn\u2019t where her ambition stops\u2014she\u2019s now making serious moves toward becoming a director<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with V Magazine<\/em>, the 21-year-old revealed that she\u2019s finally taking steps to bring a personal project to life\u2014one that she\u2019s been working on in her head for almost 10 years<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a script that I\u2019ve known I was going to make for nearly a decade,\u201d Ortega shared. \u201cIt\u2019s something I came up with when I was really young, just as I was starting out in the business. Now, I finally feel ready to make it real.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though she\u2019s still early in the process, Ortega said she\u2019s actively thinking through all the details\u2014how it\u2019ll look, what it\u2019ll take to make it happen, and how she\u2019ll piece everything together. \u201cIt\u2019s like a puzzle I\u2019ve been figuring out in my head,\u201d she explained. \u201cI needed a few years of experience to understand the order of how things get made.\u201d<\/p>\n

While she might appear in the project as an actor, her true passion lies behind the camera. \u201cThat\u2019s the main thing I want to do,\u201d she said. \u201cThat\u2019s just how my brain works\u2014it\u2019s how I even think about acting. I see stories visually, structurally, like a director would.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ortega hasn\u2019t directed anything just yet, but she\u2019s no stranger to creative leadership. She\u2019s already stepped into executive producer roles, including on Death of a Unicorn<\/em> and the upcoming season of Wednesday<\/em>. She\u2019s also set to star in and co-produce Hurry Up Tomorrow<\/em>, a thriller alongside The Weeknd and Barry Keoghan.<\/p>\n

As for her future? Ortega says she eventually wants to focus solely on creating behind the scenes. \u201cI don\u2019t want to act in the things I create forever,\u201d she explained. \u201cBut since I\u2019ve already made a name for myself in front of the camera, I can use that momentum as a stepping stone to get my own projects off the ground.\u201d<\/p>\n

With nearly a decade of passion fueling her vision\u2014and real Hollywood experience to match\u2014Jenna Ortega\u2019s move into directing could be the start of a bold, exciting new chapter.
