The New York Yankees<\/strong> are thriving<\/em> on offense in 2025, leading the American League with 271 runs scored<\/strong>, but there\u2019s one notable weak spot in the lineup: Anthony Volpe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

At 28, he might benefit from a change of scenery, and Yankee Stadium\u2019s short right field porch could be just what his power numbers need.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Atlanta\u2019s current shortstop, Nick Allen,<\/strong> is hitting a meager .550 OPS over four seasons. Volpe would be a clear defensive upgrade, with the Braves\u2019 deep offense potentially masking his hitting woes. Plus, Volpe is under team control through 2029<\/strong>, while Albies could hit free agency by the end of 2027 if his options are exercised.<\/p>\n

But come offseason<\/strong>, if both players continue trending down, a Volpe-for-Albies swap<\/strong> could make more sense for both clubs.
