The 28-year-old took to her Instagram Stories on April 21 to speak out about the condition, just months after giving birth to her first child, Jack Blues Bieber, with husband Justin Bieber in 2024.<\/p>\n
In a personal and vulnerable moment, Hailey posted a photo of herself wearing a black tank top with her stomach exposed, drawing attention to her abdominal area. Alongside the image, she wrote, \u201cCurrently have two ovarian cysts,\u201d giving followers a visual glimpse into her current reality.<\/p>\n
Though she refrained from detailing the size, cause, or medical treatment of the cysts, Hailey expressed a desire to stand in solidarity with other women facing similar reproductive health challenges. \u201cIf you deal with ovarian cysts, I\u2019m right there with ya!\u201d she wrote, acknowledging the physical discomfort and emotional stress that often accompany the condition.<\/p>\n
Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs that can develop in or on the ovaries. According to the Mayo Clinic, most ovarian cysts are harmless and resolve on their own without medical intervention. However, in some cases, they can lead to complications such as ruptures, pain, bloating, or even more serious medical issues requiring treatment.<\/p>\n
This isn\u2019t Hailey\u2019s first experience with a significant health scare. In 2022, she experienced stroke-like symptoms while having breakfast with Justin. She was rushed to the hospital, where doctors discovered she had suffered a transient ischemic attack (TIA), often referred to as a \u201cmini-stroke.\u201d The cause was a small blood clot that temporarily blocked blood flow to her brain.<\/p>\n
Following further medical evaluation, it was determined that Hailey had a patent foramen ovale (PFO)\u2014a congenital heart defect in which a small hole between the heart\u2019s upper chambers fails to close naturally after birth. Her condition was classified as a grade five PFO, the most severe form of the defect.<\/p>\n
Hailey later underwent a heart procedure to close the opening. In a YouTube video she posted in April 2022, she described her relief and gratitude. \u201cI just feel really relieved that we were able to figure everything out, that we were able to get it closed,\u201d she said, adding that she hoped to move on from what she called a \u201creally scary situation\u201d and return to normal life.<\/p>\n
