It appears that no matter how much Donald Trump criticizes George Clooney, the veteran actor remains unfazed. In his most recent conversation with Gayle King on CBS Mornings<\/em>, Clooney responded gracefully to the US President\u2019s comments, where Trump called him a \u201cfake movie actor\u201d on Truth Social.<\/p>\n

Clooney, who was on the show to promote his Broadway debut in Good Night, and Good Luck<\/em>, was asked by King about Trump\u2019s remarks. The actor, known for his roles in Ocean\u2019s Eleven<\/em> and other major films, remained calm and unconcerned. He simply stated that he didn\u2019t \u201ccare\u201d about the criticism. Clooney went on to share that he has known Trump for quite some time, but emphasized that his job is not to please the President. \u201cMy job is not to please the President of the United States. My job is to try and tell the truth when I can and when I have the opportunity,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

Acknowledging that public figures often face criticism for their opinions, Clooney added, \u201cI\u2019m aware that people will not like that, and they will criticize that.\u201d He further noted that even tech mogul Elon Musk had commented on him. Clooney recognized that people have the right to voice their opinions, just as he has the right to express his own views.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time Clooney has spoken out politically. In a recent op-ed for The New York Times<\/em>, Clooney urged then-President Joe Biden to consider stepping down as the Democratic nominee for the next election. He argued that Biden, despite his accomplishments, could give the party a better chance at defeating Trump by stepping aside due to concerns about his age.<\/p>\n

Trump, never one to shy away from a public spat, responded on Truth Social, stating, \u201cSo now fake movie actor George Clooney, who never came close to making a great movie, is getting into the act.\u201d He went on to criticize both Clooney and Biden, calling them \u201crats\u201d and accusing them of turning on each other.<\/p>\n

Despite Trump\u2019s harsh words, Clooney remains unshaken, standing firm in his belief that speaking the truth is more important than pandering to political figures.
