Ben Affleck seems to be finding his footing again, both personally and professionally, following his recent split from Jennifer Lopez. During a press junket for his upcoming film The Accountant 2<\/em>, the Good Will Hunting<\/em> actor opened up about how his real-life experiences relate to his on-screen character, Christian Wolff.<\/p>\n

Speaking alongside co-star Jon Bernthal, Affleck shared that he sees a lot of himself in Christian\u2014especially when it comes to navigating relationships. \u201cHere\u2019s a guy who wants to connect with someone but isn\u2019t quite sure how,\u201d he said, referring to Wolff\u2019s awkward but sincere attempts at romance in the film.<\/p>\n

Affleck admitted that just like his character, he too finds the early stages of relationships confusing and emotionally tricky. \u201cIt\u2019s not easy for anyone,\u201d he said, noting how people often overthink the smallest cues: \u201cIs this person into me? Am I reading this right? Am I about to embarrass myself?\u201d<\/p>\n

The Batman v Superman<\/em> star acknowledged that being vulnerable and putting yourself out there isn\u2019t something that comes naturally\u2014even for someone as well-known as he is. He said Christian Wolff\u2019s social discomfort mirrors what many people feel in real life, including himself.<\/p>\n

Adding a bit of humor to the conversation, Affleck joked that he hasn\u2019t exactly been overwhelmed with offers to do line-dancing roles in movies, saying, \u201cThat phone hasn\u2019t rung yet,\u201d poking fun at his perceived lack of rhythm or demand in that genre.<\/p>\n

This candid appearance comes just three months after his split from Jennifer Lopez. The pair, once one of Hollywood\u2019s most talked-about couples, rekindled their romance in 2021 after calling off their first engagement years prior. Though they tied the knot in 2022, they ultimately chose to part ways two years later.<\/p>\n

Now, with The Accountant 2<\/em> set for release in April 2025, Affleck appears to be throwing himself into his work while also reflecting openly on the emotional complexities of relationships\u2014both on screen and off.<\/p>\n
