This time, a Florida woman named Kimberly Marasco is suing the global pop star, claiming that Swift has copied her work in several of her songs and music videos. According to Newsweek, Marasco is seeking a hefty $30 million in damages.

Marasco has reportedly had a tough time trying to serve Swift with the legal papers. In a motion filed on Monday, Marasco mentioned that Swift’s out-of-state residence and her extensive security measures have made it difficult to get the lawsuit to the singer.

The lawsuit claims that Swift and her company, Taylor Swift Productions, took inspiration from Marasco’s work in several of Swift’s albums, including Folklore, The Tortured Poets Department, Lover, and Midnights. Interestingly, Marasco, who is into “alternative rock” music, says she’s never even purchased any of Swift’s albums. In fact, she only realized the alleged copying after attending The Eras Tour, where she claims to have discovered the similarities. In her filing, she said, “That is when she discovered the infringement and went back to her earlier albums to check other songs since there were so many found.”

This lawsuit is actually the second time Marasco has taken legal action against Swift. According to Newsweek, she had issues serving Swift the legal papers last year when she sued the singer, and Judge Aileen Cannon dismissed Swift from the case. Marasco has given several reasons for the delays, including Swift’s busy Eras Tour schedule.

Back in February, Marasco also filed a lawsuit against Swift’s collaborators, including Jack Antonoff, Aaron Dessner, Universal Music Group, and Republic Records, though Swift is the only one who hasn’t been served yet.

It’s clear that this legal drama is far from over, and it remains to be seen how it’ll unfold in the coming weeks.

It looks like Taylor Swift is in the middle of another legal battle.
