Marvel\u2019s Thunderbolts<\/em> has finally revealed its villain, and he\u2019s even more intimidating than anyone expected. A new promo for the upcoming MCU movie has confirmed what fans have been speculating for a while: Lewis Pullman\u2019s mysterious character, \u201cBob,\u201d is actually The Void<\/em>, one of the deadliest beings in Marvel history.<\/p>\n

Up until now, Marvel has kept Pullman\u2019s role under wraps, but the latest teaser and global trailer have given fans a glimpse into his darker side. In the new promo, Bob ominously says, \u201cI am the Void. There\u2019s no use fighting\u2026 You don\u2019t know what I\u2019m capable of. Maybe I need to show you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bob is no ordinary character; his powers are so immense that they surpass the combined strength of all the Avengers. Julia Louis-Dreyfus\u2019s character, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, even goes so far as to call him \u201cinvincible,\u201d warning that no one stands a chance against him. \u201cHe\u2019s invincible, all-powerful, stronger than all of the Avengers rolled into one,\u201d she says in the clip.<\/p>\n

The character of The Void comes from the comics, where he\u2019s originally known as Robert Reynolds. As a troubled young man, Reynolds gains unimaginable powers after he accidentally ingests a version of the Super Soldier Serum. These powers create two very different sides within him: one heroic and one deeply destructive.<\/p>\n

Although Marvel Studios hasn\u2019t directly confirmed that Pullman is playing Robert Reynolds, the trailers and even merchandise, like a Hasbro action figure featuring Pullman\u2019s likeness, all but confirm it.<\/p>\n

Pullman teased his character\u2019s details during the San Diego Comic-Con last year, telling Entertainment Weekly, \u201cAll I\u2019ll say is that everyone has their own nicknames, and Bob is not his only name, as Lewis is not my only name.\u201d<\/p>\n

Directed by Jake Schreier, Thunderbolts<\/em> also stars Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as the Red Guardian, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, and Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, among others.<\/p>\n

Marvel Studios\u2019 head Kevin Feige has previously shared some insight into the movie, explaining that the characters in Thunderbolts<\/em> are more anti-heroes than traditional heroes. \u201cThey are barely heroes. None of them would consider themselves heroes. When your de facto leader is Bucky Barnes, that\u2019s sort of all you need to know,\u201d Feige said.<\/p>\n
