As the original Elphaba and Glinda in <em>Wicked<\/em>, which debuted on Broadway in 2003, they forever cemented their names in theater history. The musical not only won three prestigious Tony Awards but also earned a Grammy nomination for its cast album. Fans of <em>Wicked<\/em> may soon get to see the dynamic duo together again, as Chenoweth recently teased a potential reunion.<\/p>\n<p>At the opening night of Broadway\u2019s <em>Stephen Sondheim\u2019s Old Friends<\/em>, Chenoweth shared with <em>People<\/em> magazine that she has a future project in mind where she might reunite with Menzel. When asked if she would share the stage or screen with her longtime friend, Chenoweth hinted, \u201cI have one in mind, but I can\u2019t say.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The two actresses most recently made a cameo together in the <em>Wicked<\/em> movie, which stars Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda. Their appearance in the <em>Emerald City<\/em> scene was seen by fans as a passing of the torch from the original Elphaba and Glinda to the new cast members. Chenoweth and Menzel\u2019s brief but meaningful cameo sparked excitement, leaving fans hoping for more collaborations between the two.<\/p>\n<p>After watching the movie, Chenoweth couldn\u2019t contain her excitement, posting online, \u201cOh my gosh I just saw the movie and I\u2019m dying. I\u2019m deceased, I\u2019m actually dead, I\u2019m not here. People are not going to be well when they see this film. It is so good, it is so special.\u201d She went on to praise the performances of Erivo and Grande, calling them \u201camazing,\u201d and commended the entire cast and director Jon Chu for their work. \u201cThe story is so wonderful, and Cynthia and Ariana are amazing. The whole cast is amazing. Jon Chu nailed it. I was so moved, emotional, happy, filled with joy.
