Damon Wayans Sr. recently spilled some major family tea \u2014 and it\u2019s safe to say he made family gatherings super<\/em> awkward for a while! During his visit to the Club Shay Shay<\/em> podcast, the comedian got real about the time he dated one of his nephew\u2019s ex-girlfriends.<\/p>\n

Wayans shared that the whole situation unfolded after he split from his ex-wife, Lisa Thorner, ending their 16-year marriage. He said he spent about two years flying solo, just doing his own thing, until he eventually met a woman who totally swept him off his feet. \u201cI was just like, \u2018Oh my God. I\u2019m in love,\u2019\u201d he remembered, laughing.<\/p>\n

But then, plot twist, he found out that the woman he was falling for had previously dated his nephew. Yikes! Damon didn\u2019t drop any names, but he admitted he was definitely caught off guard when he learned about the connection. When he reached out to his nephew to ask about it, the nephew didn\u2019t seem too bothered and simply said, \u201cThat\u2019s you.\u201d Damon\u2019s reaction? He joked, \u201cPass the Courvoisier, let\u2019s go!\u201d \u2014 basically meaning, let\u2019s just move on and have a drink about it.<\/em><\/p>\n

Host Shannon Sharpe couldn\u2019t help but tease him, joking that he pulled a \u201cJackson 5\u201d move \u2014 a nod to Jermaine Jackson famously marrying his brother Randy Jackson\u2019s ex. Damon laughed it off and said, honestly, he had just fallen for the girl and figured it was all fine.<\/p>\n

When Shannon pointed out that, typically, family members\u2019 exes should be totally \u201coff limits,\u201d Damon clapped back with some classic LA humor. He joked about how tiny the dating pool is in California, saying, \u201cYou know how small the pool is out here in Cali? The dating pool?\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, Wayans Sr. \u2014 who has nine siblings, including fellow comedy star Marlon Wayans \u2014 is no stranger to mixing work and family. He\u2019s famous for teaming up with his brothers and sisters on legendary projects like the \u201890s hit sketch show In Living Color<\/em> and movies like White Chicks<\/em>.<\/p>\n

And if you\u2019re a fan of the Wayans family magic, good news \u2014 back in March, Damon told People<\/em> magazine that he still loves working with his family. He explained that what other actors have to spend years building \u2014 chemistry and trust \u2014 comes naturally to them. He even teased the possibility of an In Living Color<\/em> reboot someday.
