Big news for Emily in Paris<\/em> fans! Lucas Bravo, who has stolen hearts as the dreamy chef Gabriel, just gave an exciting update: season 5 is officially on the way \u2014 and it sounds wilder than ever.<\/p>\n

Chatting with Parade<\/em> on Thursday, April 4, at the opening night of Broadway\u2019s Good Night, and Good Luck<\/em>, Bravo confirmed that filming will kick off in May. \u201cWe\u2019re starting filming in May,\u201d he shared, before teasing, \u201cI think it\u2019s the best season so far.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bravo has been part of the Emily in Paris<\/em> magic since the beginning, playing a key role in the show\u2019s tangled web of romance and drama. Created by Sex and the City<\/em>\u2019s Darren Star, the Netflix hit follows Lily Collins as Emily, a young marketing exec building a new life in the City of Lights \u2014 and often finding herself entangled with Gabriel along the way.<\/p>\n

Although he stayed tight-lipped about plot details, Bravo hinted that fans are in for a major rollercoaster. \u201cI had lunch with Darren a few days back, and he told me a bit without telling me too much,\u201d he said. \u201cI think fans are going to lose it. It\u2019s the craziest one so far.\u201d<\/p>\n

Season 4 left viewers on edge: Emily had just moved to Rome for a new job, setting up shop with her latest love interest, Marcello (played by Eugenio Franceschini). Meanwhile, fans have been left wondering \u2014 will Gabriel stay in Paris, or will love pull him across Europe?<\/p>\n

When asked whether rumored flame Shailene Woodley would be visiting him on set, Bravo simply laughed and dodged the question, smiling as he told the Parade<\/em> reporter he didn\u2019t know what they were talking about. (Earlier that day, he also told PEOPLE<\/em> he was \u201creally happy\u201d \u2014 but didn\u2019t exactly confirm or deny anything.)<\/p>\n

His enthusiasm for season 5 is a bit of a twist, considering Bravo\u2019s previous doubts about continuing with the series. In an October 2024 interview with France\u2019s Le Figaro<\/em>, he confessed he had questioned whether he wanted to spend another five months filming a show that no longer creatively challenged him. Bravo was candid about craving more meaningful growth for Gabriel and feeling that Emily in Paris<\/em> didn\u2019t always treat its viewers\u2019 intelligence with the depth he hoped for.<\/p>\n

He also spoke with IndieWire<\/em> around the same time, explaining that he had grown apart from his character over the years. \u201cThe sexy chef was a part of me in season 1,\u201d Bravo said, \u201cbut over time, the distance between Gabriel\u2019s choices and my own became very real.\u201d<\/p>\n
