Bryce Underwood<\/strong>, Michigan\u2019s shiny new five-star quarterback recruit, finally hit the field on Saturday for his first real taste of action in front of fans \u2014 and things got very<\/em> interesting.<\/p>\n

It was Michigan\u2019s annual spring game<\/strong> in Ann Arbor, and when Bryce jogged onto the field, the buzz in the stadium was real. Fans were hyped. Expectations were sky-high. And then? Boom \u2014 he delivered an 88-yard touchdown bomb<\/strong> to tight end Jalen Hoffman<\/strong> on a trick play that instantly lit up social media.<\/p>\n

But not everyone was clapping.<\/p>\n

Why? Because the play that led to the TD was a double flea flicker<\/strong> \u2014 basically football\u2019s version of saying \u201clet\u2019s get flashy.\u201d Fans had mixed feelings. But hold up \u2014 not everyone was throwing shade.<\/p>\n

Tony Garcia<\/strong> from the Detroit Free Press<\/em> gave a more balanced take. He pointed out that Underwood showed off his arm strength<\/strong> and willingness to take deep shots, which is huge for Michigan\u2019s offense. But the real test will come down to smarter play-calling, good decisions, and teamwork \u2014 not just highlight throws.<\/p>\n

As for whether Underwood will be QB1<\/strong> in the fall? Head coach Sherrone Moore<\/strong> is staying tight-lipped. He told On3\u2019s J.D. PicKell<\/strong> that he doesn\u2019t plan to announce a starter until about a week before<\/em> the first game.<\/p>\n

So basically, Bryce still has time<\/strong> to prove himself. And considering Michigan reportedly invested around $10.5 to $12 million<\/strong> in NIL deals to flip him from LSU, the pressure is definitely on.<\/p>\n
