The Boston Red Sox<\/strong> kicked off the season with high hopes after a flashy offseason, but their early performance hasn\u2019t exactly lived up to the hype. Despite major moves\u2014like trading for pitching ace Garrett Crochet<\/strong>, promoting rising star Kristian Campbell<\/strong>, and signing All-Star third baseman Alex Bregman<\/strong>\u2014they\u2019re sitting on a losing record through 19 games<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

But if there\u2019s one move that is<\/em> clearly paying off, it\u2019s Bregman<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The two-time All-Star is swinging a scorching bat right now, hitting .321 with 25 hits<\/strong>, seven doubles<\/strong>, and a strong .564 slugging percentage<\/strong>. He\u2019s been one of the few bright spots on an otherwise inconsistent team.<\/p>\n

His standout moment? Tuesday night against the Rays<\/strong>, where he delivered an absolute clinic: two home runs, four RBI, and a career-high five hits<\/strong>. Talk about showing up when your team needs it.<\/p>\n

\u201cFelt good. More importantly, it felt good to win,\u201d Bregman said after the game. That win was much needed\u2014and maybe just the spark the Red Sox need to turn things around.<\/p>\n

But the good news didn\u2019t stop there for Bregman. After the game, he revealed he\u2019s about to become a dad\u2014again!<\/strong> His wife Reagan<\/strong> is expected to give birth to their second child on Wednesday, so Bregman will be stepping away briefly on the paternity list<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cSee you Friday,\u201d he told reporters, already looking ahead to rejoining the team.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, the Red Sox will finish their series against the Tampa Bay Rays<\/strong> on Wednesday, take a breather Thursday, and face the Chicago White Sox<\/strong> Friday\u2014who recently won their series against Boston.<\/p>\n

Manager Alex Cora<\/strong> put it best: \u201cHe has a few things the upcoming days family-wise, so to have a great day like this is kind of the beginning of a great week for him.\u201d<\/p>\n

And hopefully, a great turning point for the Sox too.
