Ever since the Baltimore Ravens<\/a> wrapped up their season, rumors have been flying about the future of their star tight end, Mark Andrews. Some fans and analysts have even tossed around the idea of the team possibly trading him before the next season kicks off.<\/p>\n

But Ravens head coach John Harbaugh<\/a> is having none of it.<\/p>\n

When asked about the possibility, Harbaugh gave a clear and confident answer to ESPN: \u201cI do fully expect him to be playing for us next year.\u201d He didn\u2019t beat around the bush. As far as Harbaugh\u2019s concerned, Andrews isn\u2019t going anywhere.<\/p>\n

Why is the coach so sure? Simple\u2014because, in his words, \u201cHe\u2019s just too good a player.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, to be fair, there are a few reasons people thought a trade might be on the table. Andrews, who turns 29 this year, is heading into the final season of his current contract. His numbers in 2024 weren\u2019t exactly jaw-dropping either. He averaged just under 40 receiving yards per game\u2014the lowest he\u2019s had since his rookie year. On top of that, he had a key dropped pass during the AFC playoff game against the Buffalo Bills, which didn\u2019t exactly help his case.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Ravens have another promising tight end in Isaiah Likely. The younger player has been showing serious growth and is steadily carving out a bigger role on the team. Some people figured the Ravens might look to the future and move on from Andrews while they can still get value in return.<\/p>\n

But here\u2019s the thing\u2014Harbaugh clearly still believes in Andrews. And when your head coach is that vocal about keeping a player, it sends a message. If the Ravens were<\/em> to entertain trade offers, the asking price would likely be sky-high. Harbaugh\u2019s endorsement essentially means any team trying to poach Andrews would need to offer something seriously impressive to change Baltimore\u2019s mind.<\/p>\n

At the end of the day, while it\u2019s fun for fans and talking heads to play fantasy football with real-life trades, it looks like Andrews will still be suiting up in purple and black next season\u2014at least if Coach Harbaugh has anything to say about it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
