In his new book, <em>When the Going Was Good<\/em>, the former <em>Vanity Fair<\/em> editor-in-chief revealed that Weinstein had been barred \u201cfor life\u201d from the magazine\u2019s prestigious after-party.<\/p>\n<p>According to Carter, Weinstein is the only celebrity ever banned from the event, a decision made not just because of his later criminal charges but also due to his long history of bad behavior. The disgraced producer, who was convicted as a sex offender, had a reputation for bringing uninvited guests and mistreating staff members.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <em>Page Six<\/em>, Carter recalled Weinstein\u2019s unacceptable conduct at the Oscars after-party, saying, \u201cHe got banned from everything because he was rude to the staff, and I didn\u2019t like that.\u201d He further clarified that Weinstein\u2019s actions weren\u2019t fueled by alcohol but were simply \u201cjust within him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carter, who served as <em>Vanity Fair<\/em>\u2019s editor-in-chief from 1992 to 2017, took over hosting duties for the magazine\u2019s Oscar parties after the passing of famed Hollywood agent Swifty Lazar. In his book, he recounted how <em>Vanity Fair<\/em> editor Sara Marks, who managed the guest list, often faced bribery attempts, threats, and even abuse from those desperate to attend.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Weinstein is currently serving a combined 39-year prison sentence after being convicted of multiple sexual assault charges. Nearly 80 women came forward with allegations against him in 2017, sparking the #MeToo movement.
