Drew Barrymore is getting candid about how her tumultuous childhood shaped the way she raises her daughters. In a heartfelt conversation with Moon Zappa on The Drew Barrymore Show<\/em>, the Charlie\u2019s Angels<\/em> star reflected on the struggles she faced growing up and how they influence her approach to parenting today.<\/p>\n

Barrymore, who shares 12-year-old Olive and 10-year-old Frankie<\/strong> with ex-husband Will Kopelman, expressed how deeply her divorce affected her. \u201cEverything to me was very devastating and took me a long time to recover from if it wasn\u2019t in the traditional family dynamic that I swore I would do for my family,\u201d she admitted.<\/p>\n

Recalling moments from her own childhood, Barrymore opened up about the simple things that made her envious of other kids\u2014like having a parent pick them up from school when they were sick. \u201cI was so jealous of those kids who would call and be like, \u2018Mom, Dad, come pick me up.\u2019 I just would sit there and be like, \u2018What\u2019s that like?\u2019\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n
