Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco recently shared an awkward but endearing moment from their early days as a couple\u2014showing up way<\/em> too early to Taylor Swift\u2019s party.<\/p>\n

During their appearance on Spotify\u2019s Countdown To<\/em> on March 19, ahead of their joint album I Said I Love You First<\/em>, the duo reminisced about their relationship\u2019s beginnings. Gomez recalled a particularly cringeworthy moment at one of Swift\u2019s post-awards show gatherings.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know if this was the first, but it was actually really funny. As a couple, we went to Taylor\u2019s [Swift] party after some awards show,\u201d<\/em> Gomez said.<\/p>\n

However, they quickly realized they had made a major social faux pas.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know, it was kind of cute, but I was mortified. Apparently, cool people don\u2019t show up to parties on time,\u201d<\/em> she admitted.<\/p>\n

Blanco chimed in with some lighthearted teasing, pointing out that they\u2019re always the first to arrive anywhere\u2014comparing Gomez\u2019s punctuality to his mother\u2019s.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re the first people at every single party when I go with you. You show up when, like, my mother shows up to a party,\u201d<\/em> he joked.<\/p>\n

But arriving early wasn\u2019t the only awkward part of the night. At the time, Gomez and Blanco were still keeping their relationship a secret.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, I thought you were gonna talk about the fact that no one knew we were dating, and we were hiding,\u201d<\/em> Blanco added.<\/p>\n

Gomez and Swift have shared a deep friendship since 2008, and Swift was one of the first to celebrate Gomez and Blanco\u2019s engagement in December 2024. The Fortnight<\/em> singer has even expressed her wish to be the flower girl<\/em> at their wedding.<\/p>\n
