The Carolina Panthers have been active this offseason, making major moves to strengthen their defense. General manager Dan Morgan brought in safety Tre\u2019Von Moehrig and locked down Jaycee Horn with a massive contract extension, making him the second highest-paid cornerback in the league. But despite these additions, there\u2019s still a need for more depth in the secondary.<\/p>\n

With the 2025 NFL Draft fast approaching, the Panthers could look to add a veteran presence, and one intriguing option is former Buffalo Bills cornerback Rasul Douglas. Bleacher Report\u2019s Moe Moton sees Douglas as a potential target for Carolina.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe 30-year-old has recorded at least three interceptions in four of his eight seasons,\u201d Moton noted. \u201cHowever, he has also allowed a passer rating over 108.5 or six touchdowns in four of his last seven campaigns. Last year, he didn\u2019t record an interception for the first time since 2020 and allowed a concerning 122.0 passer rating.\u201d<\/p>\n

Douglas, originally drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018, has bounced around the league but is no stranger to Carolina. He previously spent the 2020 season with the Panthers, playing 89% of defensive snaps during his lone year in Charlotte.<\/p>\n

While his 2024 season wasn\u2019t his best\u2014allowing 8.8 yards per target and struggling in coverage\u2014he remains a capable playmaker. If Carolina is looking for a veteran corner to pair with Horn, Douglas could be a solid short-term option, especially if he rebounds with a fresh start.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n
