The actress takes on the role of Ruth, a character she describes as <strong>\u201cheartbreaking\u201d and \u201cself-destructive,\u201d<\/strong> unlike anything she\u2019s played before.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI mean, I\u2019ve played women who\u2019ve been dumped and struggle to move on,\u201d Coolidge shared with <em>Deadline<\/em>, \u201cbut this role was <strong>so much more layered<\/strong>\u2014I had so much to sink my teeth into.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Coolidge was especially thrilled to work alongside a <strong>stellar ensemble<\/strong> cast, which includes <strong>Bill Murray, Ed Harris, Gabrielle Union, Pete Davidson, and Lewis Pullman<\/strong>. She joked that there was no need to <strong>convince her<\/strong> to take the role\u2014she was on board the moment she read the script.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis was a dream. A dream,\u201d she gushed.<\/p>\n<p>The film follows <strong>Vincent (Harris), a criminal<\/strong> who seems to have left his past behind for an \u201cordinary\u201d life with his wife <strong>Sandy (Union)<\/strong> and their son <strong>DJ (Miles J. Harvey)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>But their quiet getaway is <strong>shaken up<\/strong> when Vincent\u2019s <strong>estranged family members<\/strong> unexpectedly show up:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Rocco (Pullman), his other son<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Marina (Emanuela Postacchini), Rocco\u2019s pregnant girlfriend<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Ruth (Coolidge), Vincent\u2019s incapacitated mother<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What starts as a seemingly <strong>awkward family reunion<\/strong> quickly takes a <strong>dangerous turn<\/strong>, as mobsters <strong>Leftie (Murray) and Lonnie (Davidson)<\/strong> have been following their every move.<\/p>\n<p>Reflecting on her experience filming <em>Riff Raff<\/em>, Coolidge called it a <strong>\u201cwild ride.\u201d<\/strong> She admitted she initially feared that the filmmakers might <strong>change their minds<\/strong> about casting her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was like, \u2018Are you serious?
