For the first time since Mike McDaniel<\/strong> took over as head coach, the Miami Dolphins<\/strong> are coming off a season where they missed the playoffs<\/strong>. That\u2019s a tough pill to swallow for a team that had Super Bowl aspirations<\/strong>, especially with Tua Tagovailoa<\/strong> locked in as their franchise quarterback on a massive $212 million contract<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Now, the Dolphins have to make some big decisions about their future, and that might include moving on from key players while they still have value<\/strong>. The biggest name on that list? Tyreek Hill<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Could the Chargers make a move for Tyreek Hill?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

According to Mason Cameron of Pro Football Focus<\/strong>, one team that could be a serious trade partner is the Los Angeles Chargers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Even though Hill had a down year in 2024<\/strong>, finishing with a career-low PFF receiving grade of 77.3<\/strong>, he\u2019s still one of the most electrifying playmakers in the league. Over the past three seasons, he\u2019s been elite, ranking in the 92nd percentile in receiving grade and the 99th percentile in yards per route run<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

If the Chargers were to land Hill, he\u2019d immediately transform their offense. Justin Herbert<\/strong> has been in desperate need of a true deep threat, and pairing Hill with Ladd McConkey<\/strong> would give the Chargers one of the scariest receiving duos in the league.<\/p>\n

Why would Miami consider trading Tyreek Hill?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

While it still seems more likely that Hill stays in Miami<\/strong>, there\u2019s a real argument for the Dolphins to explore a trade:<\/p>\n

    His Contract is Massive<\/strong> \u2013 Hill\u2019s deal carries a $51.9 million cap hit in 2026<\/strong>, which could put the Dolphins in a financial bind. Moving him now would give them more flexibility to build around Tua and address other roster needs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    He\u2019s 31 Years Old<\/strong> \u2013 While Hill is still elite, wide receivers don\u2019t typically get better with age. If the Dolphins want to maximize their return<\/strong>, trading him sooner rather than later makes sense.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
