The news were confirmed by her longtime publicist R. Couri Hay. In a statement shared with Us Weekly, \u201cSuzanne Somers passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of October 15th. She survived an aggressive form of breast cancer for over 23 years.\u201d During her last moments, she was surrounded by her loved ones including her husband Alan, son Bruce, and her immediate family.<\/p>\n
She would have turned 77 on October 16, Monday, and her family plans to \u201ccelebrate her extraordinary life.\u201d They thanked the millions of fans who loved her dearly and the statement concluded with saying that \u201ca private family burial will take place this week, with a memorial to follow next month.\u201d<\/p>\n
It was announced by her husband Alan Hamel that her cancer has recurred.<\/p>\n
\u201cSuzanne has lived with cancer all her life,\u201d Hamel, 87, told Page Six in July. He noted that she had \u201ctwo hyperplasia\u201d in her 20s, which were described as waiting room for cancer.<\/p>\n
