The index rose by 68.40 points, or 0.28%.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>S&P\/TSX Smallcap Index<\/strong> also showed upward momentum, ending at 830.35, up 4.01 points, or 0.49%. The small-cap sector posted one of the stronger percentage gains of the day as investor interest in smaller firms remained robust.<\/p>\n<p>On a smaller scale, the <strong>S&P\/TSX Venture Index<\/strong> closed at 603.72, marking a slight increase of 0.45 points, or 0.07%. While the rise was modest, it indicated a stable session for this segment, primarily consisting of early-stage and growth-oriented companies.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>S&P\/TSX Completion Index<\/strong>, which includes mid-cap stocks outside of the top 60, finished at 1,483.27, advancing 7.89 points, or 0.53%.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, the <strong>S&P\/TSX 60 Index<\/strong>, comprising 60 of Canada\u2019s largest companies by market cap, saw gains as well, closing at 1,458.29.
