In a surprise appearance that combined the thrill of live music with the digital gaming world, Ice Spice and Snoop Dogg took over Times Square on Friday for an unexpected, real-time performance. The event, live-streamed directly into the popular online game Fortnite<\/em>, brought the landmark NYC location and gaming universe together for fans on the ground and online.<\/p>\n

The performance was timed to kick off Fortnite\u2019s<\/em> new Chapter 2 Remix, featuring contributions from Ice Spice and Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and the estate of the late Juice WRLD. The event, viewed live in Times Square and virtually by millions of Fortnite<\/em> players, was a launchpad for a month-long series of in-game artist celebrations and themed gameplay locations.<\/p>\n

Chapter 2 Remix Brings Iconic Artists to the Fortnite Universe<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Starting November 2, the Chapter 2 Remix season begins with Snoop Dogg, who enters the Battle Royale mode as the face of Fortnite Festival<\/em>\u2018s Season 6. Snoop expressed excitement over his involvement: \u201cBeing part of Fortnite<\/em> is all about creating, playing, and sharing my music and culture with the next generation. My son Cordell\u2019s a big Fortnite<\/em> player with me, so when we had the opportunity, we jumped on it as a new way to connect with my sound and style.\u201d<\/p>\n

On November 7, Eminem will make his return to the game following his first appearance in December 2023. Known for his high-energy style, Eminem\u2019s in-game persona will bring fresh gear and new emotes to Fortnite<\/em> fans. \u201cGuess who\u2019s back, ready for combat, man! I\u2019m serving all new gear along with a side of spaghetti\u2026 come and get it!\u201d he commented.<\/p>\n

Ice Spice, dubbed the \u201cPrincess of New York,\u201d will join Fortnite<\/em> on November 14, offering her unique experience and style to the game. \u201cGetting the chance to come to the game and remix the Chapter 2 map is unreal,\u201d she shared. \u201cFortnite<\/em> is all about creativity and connection, and I\u2019m hyped to bring my own spin to it!\u201d<\/p>\n

The final week, on November 21, will honor the legacy of Juice WRLD with a special tribute, the details of which will be announced soon. Fans of Juice WRLD, known for his love of Fortnite<\/em>, will also be able to unlock an exclusive Slayer Juice WRLD Outfit just by logging in between 1 a.m. ET on November 30 and 1 a.m. ET on December 1. Juice\u2019s mother, Carmela Wallace, expressed her pride, saying, \u201cBeing in Fortnite<\/em> is an incredible tribute to that connection. I know he would be overjoyed to see how his love for games continues to bring people together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chapter 2 Remix Finale on November 30<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Remix season will culminate with a grand finale event, \u201cRemix: The Finale,\u201d on November 30 at 2 p.m. ET. The event promises to honor Juice WRLD\u2019s memory and music while celebrating the crossover of hip-hop and gaming culture within Fortnite<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Throughout November, players will be able to dive into each artist\u2019s world, complete with themed outfits available in the Fortnite<\/em> Shop, allowing fans to not only play as their favorite artists but also explore creative gameplay areas inspired by each of them.<\/p>\n
