Loosely inspired by Fleetwood Mac and their iconic 1977 Rumours album, Daisy Jones & The Six captivated fans with its music, 1970s nostalgia, and dramatic character arcs. Now, Nicks has an idea for what a continuation could look like.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Nicks revealed she imagined what would happen if Billy Dunne returned to Daisy after his wife Camila’s passing—a connection reminiscent of her own long-standing dynamic with Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham. “I thought, what if Billy came back, they decided to make that last record I always hoped for, like Lindsey and I never did,” Nicks suggested. “That would make a fantastic second season.”

Reese and Riley are ‘on board’—but busy

According to Nicks, both Witherspoon and Keough loved her concept. However, she acknowledged that scheduling presents a challenge, given Keough’s rising film career. “Everybody’s so busy. But maybe one of these days, they’ll do it,” Nicks said optimistically.

The legendary singer also admitted she had initial reservations about watching the series, which aired in early 2023 on Prime Video. Concerned the show might distort Fleetwood Mac’s story, she held off—until she was laid up with COVID-19 and finally decided to give it a try. Her perspective changed quickly. “I was in my condo in Los Angeles, and I remember saying, ‘Am I just watching my life go by?’” she shared. The show’s close parallels to her own journey, she said, “felt eerily familiar.”

Spot-on casting, says Nicks

Nicks also praised the cast for capturing her bandmates’ personalities. She was particularly impressed with Sam Claflin as Billy Dunne, a character modeled in part on Buckingham. “He captured so much of Lindsey that it was creepy,” she said, noting Claflin’s darkly handsome look and curly hair, which strongly resembled Buckingham’s iconic appearance.

Nicks further noted Suki Waterhouse’s portrayal of Karen Sirko, who embodies Fleetwood Mac’s Christine McVie. “Suki was a great Christine—in her Englishness and the way she dressed,” Nicks noted, admiring the character’s nod to McVie’s style and energy.

While it remains uncertain if the Daisy Jones & The Six team will take Nicks up on her idea, fans of both Fleetwood Mac and the series are no doubt eager to see this legendary music drama continue.

Stevie Nicks, legendary Fleetwood Mac singer, has pitched a second-season storyline for ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ to Reese Witherspoon and Riley Keough.
