How to Play NYT Strands<\/h3>\n

The goal of Strands is to find \u201ctheme words\u201d hidden within a grid of letters. You can drag or tap letters to form words, then double-tap the final letter to confirm. When you find a correct theme word, the letters will turn blue and become unselectable.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the twist: Even if you discover non-theme words, it\u2019s helpful! For every three non-theme words you find (with at least four letters), you earn a hint \u2014 a few letters from one of the theme words will be revealed, and you\u2019ll just need to unscramble them.<\/p>\n

Remember, every letter on the grid is part of a theme word, and there\u2019s no overlap \u2014 each letter is used only once. Also, keep an eye out for the \u201cspangram,\u201d a special word that runs from one side of the board to the opposite side and ties into the puzzle\u2019s theme. It will be highlighted in yellow when you find it.<\/p>\n
