Travis Kelce\u2019e ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole penned a powerful open letter amid his budding romance with Taylor Swift.<\/p>\n
The 31-year-old clapped back at the \u2019embarrassment and backlash\u2019 she received while reading a lengthy letter on her Instagram handle Monday.<\/p>\n
Her letter was addressed to \u201cBlack women, specifically,\u201d explaining that it wasn\u2019t her aim to \u201ccreate division but [rather] elevate and unite\u201d listeners.<\/p>\n
She began with saying, \u201cThey may call you a traitor for falling in love\u2026 You\u2019ll hope the ones closes will protect you but quickly realise people don\u2019t protect what they don\u2019t value.\u201d Nicole dated Kelce on and off from 2017 to 2022.<\/p>\n
She added that your value will be attributed with your net worth. In the same breath, you will both, \u2018you are too much\u2019 and \u2018you are not enough\u2019. They might also call you \u201cnot successful enough\u2026 maybe not even intelligent enough.\u201d<\/p>\n
Nicole encouraged her listeners to not \u201cparticipate in this\u2026 often one-sided journey.\u201d She explained that despite of them quantifying your character, you do not have to respond, rather preserve your heart because there is power in your silence.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen the world gets dark and time gets hard and you fell like your back is against the wall and your hands are tied and nobody knows what it\u2019s like to be you\u2026 this is only a small chapter in your story.\u201d In the end, Nicole concluded with pointing the importance of \u201ctherapy, prayer, [and] community.\u201d<\/p>\n
Her open letter comes two weeks after Kelce and Swift went public with their romance.<\/p>\n
